Elio Ticca (Italy 1988) is an artist who work with painting, sculpture and installation art. Through a process of mimicry and reconstruction, his pratique aims to study as the representation of pathos can be culturally and conceptually deconstructed, and reconstructed under new plastic and visual forms. His poetics looks at the collective unconscious to create new images, filtered by personal experiences. The artist adopt an often nostalgic contemporary vision, influenced by feeling of loss and loneliness, reconciling speculative realism and post-surrealism. His works mix art history and futuristic dystopias, gender roles and queer identities, exoticism and esotericism. Lives and works in Bruxelles.
