Gianni Casagrande è nato a Nuoro nel 1963, dove vive e lavora.
Autodidatta, disegna da quando aveva due anni.
Nel 1999, la progettazione della stesura di un film basato su una propria sceneggiatura diventa l’occasione per la sua prima mostra presentata a Nuoro nel 2004 col titolo “Seguite la guerra su questa mappa del mondo in proiezione Mercatore“.
Da allora non ha più smesso di disegnare dedicandosi esclusivamente alla pittura.
